About Origin

Our family has been growing coffee for over a century in a village called Thalihalla, located in the district of Chikmagalur, Karnataka, India. Chikmagalur, home to the highest peak(at 6332 feet) of the state of Karnataka is also commonly referred to as the “Coffee Town”.

Our plantations are located at an average elevation of around 4300 feet, in a hilly region. Coffee in Chikmagalur is grown under the shade of wild trees and Silver Oaks. Shade grown coffee with the combination of the elevation of cultivation will add taste to every cup you sip. All the coffee marketed by us, is harvested within a radius of 3 miles. With the aim of providing fresh roast coffee, our coffee is roasted in small batches and inventory is intentionally kept low.

The Process

Fully Washed

After the coffee is harvested, good quality coffee is sorted. The coffee cherry is separated from the beans. The beans are then washed and dried under natural sun light for about a week and stored.

Sun Dried

This is also called as natural processing. Right after the Coffee is harvested; ripe, good quality coffee fruits are sorted and slow dried under natural sunlight for about 2 to 3 weeks

Anaerobic Fermentation

Right after the coffee is harvested, good quality coffee cherries are sorted and fermented in the absence of oxygen for a couple of days, before being processed further.
